Historical release context
Preliminary vs final UCAT deciles
Preliminary statistics
The earlier snapshot covered 20,794 tests valid to 13 September 2026, with a mean of 1970 and 10th–90th boundaries of 1630–2300. It has been superseded by the final UK figures above.
Final statistics
The completed 2026 UK cohort includes 42,359 tests valid to 24 September 2026, with a mean of 1918. Both calculators now use these final boundaries.
The short explanation
What is a UCAT decile?
Deciles divide candidate total scores into ten groups. A published percentile boundary marks the score at or below which that share of candidates scored. For example, the 90th-percentile boundary separates the highest-scoring 10% from the rest of the cohort.
Boundaries change with each test cycle, so a score’s position should be compared with statistics from the same year. Use our UCAT percentile calculator for a score-by-score estimate based on the final 2026 UK thresholds.
