A practice mark is useful only when you know what it can — and cannot — tell you. Here is the complete method behind the estimate.
How the UCAT Score Calculator Works
Enter the number of marks you earned in each current UCAT subtest: Verbal Reasoning out of 44, Decision Making out of 35, Quantitative Reasoning out of 36 and Situational Judgement out of 69. For Decision Making and SJT practice resources that award partial credit, enter half marks as 0.5.
The calculator estimates each cognitive scaled score, adds VR, DM and QR to produce a total out of 2700, then compares that total with the official 2025 candidate distribution. SJT stays separate because universities receive it as a band rather than as part of the cognitive total.
UCAT Raw Score to Scaled Score Conversion
In the live test, each cognitive subtest is reported on a common scale from 300 to 900. The official total is simply the three scaled cognitive scores added together, so it ranges from 900 to 2700. There is no negative marking.
There is not, however, one official public table that maps every raw mark to a scaled score. UCAT uses multiple test forms and equates them so results remain comparable even when question difficulty differs. A third-party calculator cannot reproduce that process from a raw practice score alone.
For a clear and repeatable practice estimate, this tool maps zero marks to 300 and full marks to 900, then rounds to the nearest 10. Treat the result as a progress marker, not a prediction of the score you will receive on test day.

UCAT Percentile Explained
A percentile describes how your total compares with other candidates. The 80th percentile, for example, means a score was equal to or higher than about 80% of the comparison group. It does not mean that 80% of questions were answered correctly.
Official 2026 percentiles are not available before the testing window finishes. This calculator therefore interpolates between the official 2025 decile thresholds — the most recent complete cycle and the first after Abstract Reasoning was removed. The 2025 ninth-decile threshold was 2220 and the mean total was 1891.
Cohort performance changes each year, so the displayed percentile is labelled as a 2025 comparison. Use it to put practice scores in context, then check the UCAT Consortium's current test statistics when 2026 preliminary and final results are published.

Verbal Reasoning
Assesses your ability to read, interpret and draw conclusions from written information. Its scaled score contributes 300–900 to the total.

Tests how you evaluate arguments, probabilities and logical information. Some practice question types may award partial marks.
Quantitative Reasoning
Measures your ability to solve problems using numerical information. Its scaled score contributes 300–900 to the total.
Situational Judgement
Assesses judgement in professional scenarios. It is reported separately from Band 1 (highest) to Band 4 and can include partial credit.
The SJT estimate uses broad practice thresholds based on full-credit-equivalent points: 57 or more for Band 1, 48–56.5 for Band 2, 38–47.5 for Band 3 and below 38 for Band 4. These are not official band boundaries. Live forms are equated, and only your official score report confirms your band.
